Did you know?

The Oakville & Milton Humane Society is a place of miracles thanks to the support from the community of animal lovers.

  • Last year The Oakville and Milton Humane Society took in over 5,000 dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, lizards, wildlife, and more.
  • About 800 animals were adopted last year, including goats and a pig!
  • The Animal Protection Team is here 24-7! If you have lost your pet or see an animal in distress call 905-845-1551 (day or night). We are here to help!
Our Animal Protection team responded to over 10,000 calls regarding emergencies, rescues, and investigations last year.
  • We have about 280 volunteers, including foster families who help us care for the thousands of animals we take in every year.
  • We have one of the best records in Canada for reuniting lost pets with their families.
  • Every animal is spayed, neutered, and micro-chipped before it is adopted.
  • We offer dog training classes.
  • We brought our educational programming to more than 3,000 children.
  • We do not receive funding from the government to care for the animals or to find homes for them. We rely on the community to keep our doors open.
