Urgent fosters

These dogs are in need of foster homes to suit their specific needs. OMHS provides all food and supplies, as well as covers all medical costs. As a foster, you would help to provide care, love, exercise and continue with any training needs. Our staff would provide you with the support you need.

Please check out these adorable faces and see the description with each photo to know what type of foster home they need. You can email our Manager of Animal Care at kristens@omhs.ca to inquire about the best fit for you or which foster you are interested in. In the email, please include if you have other pets in the home, any children in the home, and your experience working with dogs. Serious inquiries only please.

Barbara

Barbara is an adult Havanese mix that is looking for a foster home as the shelter environment is unfortunately overwhelming. She came from a house that had too many dogs and needs help to come out of her shell. She is shy and needs help to build trust. A quiet adult only home is best. Barbara will need help with walking on a leash, house training and to learn how much fun it is to play with toys!

Tofu is an adult Havanese mix that is looking for a foster home as the shelter environment is overwhelming for him. He came from a house that had too many dogs and needs help to grow his confidence. Tofu would do well in a quiet adult only home that can give him the patience and space he needs to build his trust.

abby

Abby is an adult Havanese mix that is looking for a foster home as the shelter environment is too much for her. She came from a house that had too many dogs and needs help to come out of her shell. A quiet adult only home would be best to help her gain some confidence.

kanga

Kanga is an adult Havanese mix that is looking for a foster home as the shelter environment is too much for her. She came from a house that had too many dogs and needs help to come out of her shell. She is worried about new people and the environment. She needs an adult only foster home with someone that is willing to go slow with her and help to build trust.

Captain is an adult Havanese mix that is looking for a foster home as the shelter environment is too much for him. He came from a house that had too many dogs and needs a foster family that can help him build his confidence. A quiet adult only home would help Captain to come out of his shell and learn that the world isn’t such a scary place!

rolo

Rolo is an 11 month old American Bulldog mix with energy for DAYS! This big boy is still in his puppy phase and hasn’t quite learned all of his manners. He will get overstimulated and still be mouthy. He has been working with our canine team on his self-control and calming his body. Rolo is such a sweet boy, but is really struggling in a shelter environment. He’s looking for an experienced foster with no children or pets, that can help him to work on his manners. Due to being overstimulated easily, Rolo is looking for a townhouse, semi-detached, or detached home (no apartments or condo units).

muffin

Muffin is an adorable 6 year old Shih Tzu that arrived as a stray. After being seen by our vet, she was found to have Lyme Disease and is currently undergoing medical treatment. Muffin tends to be more fearful of men and may react out of fear. A quiet home with a foster parent that has experience with more fearful animals would be beneficial for Muffin. Her foster parent should be comfortable giving medication and able to bring her back for a medical appointment.
