The Oakville & Milton Humane Society (OMHS) is pleased to announce that beginning Tuesday, July 5th, animal viewing will be open to the public without an appointment. Animal viewing is available Tuesday-Friday 12pm-6pm, Saturday 12pm-5pm and Sunday 12pm-4pm.

Members of the public will be able to visit with cats and small animals outside of their kennels with staff/volunteer assistance. Most of our dogs have challenging behaviours; meet and greets can be arranged after completing an application and determining with the adoption staff if the dog is a good fit.

For more information about the adoption process, please click here. The OMHS has aligned with the current provincial government on masking mandates so that guests/visitors, as well as staff and volunteers are no longer required to wear a mask while at the shelter.

For more information on all our services please check out website for more information or contact us at 905-845-1551. Our office hours are, Monday to Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 11am-4pm.

Should COVID-19 numbers increase significantly after restrictions have been lifted, we will re-assess our COVID Safety Plan and Protocols. This may result in a return to stricter measures if required.

A reminder to all visitors to NOT visit the shelter if you:

  • are experiencing shortness of breath, cough, sore throat, or fever
  • been in close contact with a person showing symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days
  • have been advised by a health professional to self-quarantine.

The health and wellbeing of the public, staff, and volunteers continues to be our highest priority and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition period.

Stopping the spread of COVID-19 is a community effort and our individual actions do make a difference. We thank you for your continued understanding and please stay safe.

Regards,

Rick Perciante,
Executive Director
