The Oakville & Milton Humane Society (OMHS) is pleased to announce that beginning on Friday, March 25 you can schedule an appointment to view the animals! Animal viewing will be available by appointment from Friday to Sunday each week. For more information about the adoption process, or to schedule an appointment, please click here. The OMHS has aligned with the current provincial government on masking mandates so that guests/visitors are no longer required to wear a mask while at the shelter. OMHS staff and volunteers will continue to wear masks until June 30.

For more information on all our services please review the chart below. Our office hours are Sunday 11am-4pm, Monday to Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday 9am-5pm.

Should COVID-19 numbers increase significantly after restrictions have been lifted we will re-assess our COVID Safety Plan and Protocols. This may result in a return to stricter measures if required.

A reminder to all visitors to NOT visit the shelter if you:

  • are experiencing shortness of breath, cough, sore throat, or fever
  • been in close contact with a person showing symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days
  • have been advised by a health professional to self-quarantine.

The health and wellbeing of the public, staff, and volunteers continues to be our highest priority and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition period.

Stopping the spread of COVID-19 is a community effort and our individual actions do make a difference. We thank you for your continued understanding and please stay safe.
