The dogs at OMHS have it made in the shade! The timing could not be more perfect as two new gazebos went up on July 18; one of the hottest days of the year. Staff and volunteers take the dogs out several times a day for exercise and fresh air. They say it takes a village and now with the added shade of the gazebos, the dogs can stay out longer to run, play and get their exercise! It is because of the amazing compassion and generosity of some very special dog loving people that this was possible! Three cheers for Adam Otterbein and Mike Otterbein from Otterbein Cabinetry in Kitchener for their generous donation which helped make the purchase of the gazebos possible. All PAWS UP! to Wolfe Co. Apparel and Goods for coming to our rescue and immediately starting a fundraiser for the gazebos. Thank you to everyone who donated. You made a big difference in the lives of the dogs. We LOVE Canadian Tire on Kerr Street! Thank you for discounting the price of one gazebo and donating the second one. It is because of you that we were also able to purchase two benches with storage for dog supplies. And kudos to Mark Urbanowicz (white hat) and Mike Banting who spent the day assembling the gazebos in the sweltering heat. Let the dog days of summer begin! See the transformation below from sun to shade.
