Sunny (Palliative Adoption)
Boxer * Shepherd * Spayed/Neutered * Female * 9 Years Old
Profile:
Adoption Note: Please be aware that this animal is not currently housed in our adoption rooms and cannot be viewed during animal viewing hours. Sunny is a palliative adoption. While she is comfortable and currently has quality of life, we recognize due to age and medical status that she could reach the end of her life at any time. As a result, her adoption fee has been waived. Our goal is to find a family that can tend to her medical and care needs, and get her onto a comfy couch as soon as possible.
HOW DID SUNNY GET HERE?
Sunny was found as a stray, so we do not have a history on her.
PERSONALITY:
- Loves people and attention
- Very friendly and affectionate
- Goofy and hilarious
- Loves going for walks
- House trained
WHAT TYPE OF HOME IS SUNNY LOOKING FOR?
- Good with other dogs and cats as long as the there is a slow introduction
- Adult (18 years+) as we do not have a history on her
MEDICAL:
Sunny is blind and has diabetes, requiring a dedicated owner to administer her insulin twice daily and monitor her glucose levels as needed. Given her blindness, it's essential for her new family to have a solid understanding of how to help her navigate her environment and ensure her safety from unexpected people or dogs. Additionally, Sunny has a small mammary mass measuring about 1cm, which our vets have advised us to simply monitor, with no treatment necessary at this time. Sunny eats a vet prescribed diet called Hills W/D and must stay on this food unless otherwise instructed by a vet.
We are happy to connect with your vet about any questions you have about Sunny's medical history.
This sweet gal is looking for a quiet home with someone who has a ton of time for snuggles! She's a sweetheart and loves attention.
