Isaac (Palliative Adoption)
Domestic Longhair * Spayed/Neutered * Male * 6 Years Old
Profile:
**Adoption Note: Please be aware that this animal is not currently housed in our adoption rooms and cannot be viewed during animal viewing hours. Isaac is a palliative adoption. While he is comfortable and currently has quality of life, we recognize due to his medical status that he could reach the end of his life earlier than the average cat. As a result, his adoption fee has been waived. Our goal is to find a family that can tend to his medical and care needs, and get him onto a comfy couch as soon as possible.**
Meet Isaac, the sweetest little gentleman searching for his forever family! This lovable stray has been with us for a while as we addressed his medical needs, and now he's ready to start his next chapter.
Isaac is a champion napper with a knack for finding the coziest, most out-of-the-way spots to curl up-it's always a fun adventure trying to find his latest snooze spot! While his play sessions are short, he absolutely adores wand toys and will play enthusiastically.
Mealtime is a highlight of Isaac's day. In his own charming way, he'll gently place a paw on your leg as if to say, "Excuse me, please, is it dinner time yet?" It's an irresistible combination of politeness and enthusiasm!
Isaac is a special boy with some unique medical needs, but that doesn't stop him from being an incredible companion. He has been diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), a progressive heart condition that affects his heart's ability to pump blood effectively. Over time, this condition can lead to complications such as fluid buildup in or around the lungs, known as congestive heart failure. While this is serious, Isaac is currently stable and doing well with the care he's receiving. His forever family will need to work with a veterinarian to monitor his condition and keep him comfortable. He is currently taking a daily medication called Clopidogrel.
In addition to HCM, Isaac also has Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), which is managed with a veterinary-prescribed diet called Royal Canin Anallergenic. This specialized food helps keep his digestion on track and supports his overall health.
Isaac's medical needs may require a little extra attention, but his playful spirit, love of wand toys, and sweet, gentle nature make him worth every moment of care. He's ready to share his heart with a family who will cherish him as much as he deserves!
We are looking for a home that can care for Isaac and his medical needs. We're more than happy to connect with your vet to answer any questions. This amazing boy is a true snuggle bug and is eager to find a loving home where he can enjoy a new family in comfort. Could you be the one to give Isaac the cozy life he deserves? Please call our adoptions team at 905-845-1551.
