Jeannie is a seasoned not-for-profit Board Director with extensive experience in governance, risk management, finance, and strategic planning.  During her career, Jeannie worked at several financial institutions, holding increasingly senior leadership roles at the Bank of Canada, BMO Nesbitt Burns, and Manulife’s Global Asset Management firm (MFC). After first volunteering, Jeannie took a position at the CFA Institute for a short time before retiring from full-time employment in 2012, allowing her to focus on board work.  She had already been an active Board member of Links2Care starting in 2005, and over the next 10 years, she filled a number of roles including two committee chair roles and the Board Chair. She also took on several other board or committee roles, with the last being Women in Capital Markets, where she was also interim CEO and President for a short time.  In Jeannie’s roles as a not-for-profit Board Director, she assisted in the development and maturing of several different boards and committees, providing governance training, investment and risk management expertise. In 2016, she was recognized as one of the Canadian Board Diversity Council’s 50 Diverse Directors “Who Are Board Ready.”

Jeannie holds a Master of Arts (Economics) from the University of Toronto, the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation and is a recipient of ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
