Thanks to the quick response of OMHS’ Animal Protective Services Team, seven baby goslings were saved when they were safely removed from their nest in a planter box on the edge of a 7th floor balcony overlooking Lake Ontario at Bronte Road.

Officer Zuwala took great care in safely blocking the parents with cardboard and one-by-one removing the babies and placing them into a box. The officer then moved the goslings down to the park and opened the box so they could be reunited with mom and dad who quickly flew down to find them. The family is now safe once again at ground level, and the goslings are thriving!
