Throughout the current COVID-19 pandemic the Oakville & Milton Humane Society (OMHS) continues to provide all the animals with the best possible care and enrichment possible.
We are pleased to announce that in addition to our Barkin’ Bin thrift store reopening last month, our Youth Apprenticeship Program will be starting up again next week. As well, we will begin offering nail trims again and our Kindness Club, both in October.
OMHS continues to review our plans to ensure a safe reopening of our programs, services, and facilities. This is an ongoing process, and we continue to carefully and responsibly review how we can ease restrictions and bring back our popular programs and services while always ensuring the safety of the animals, public, volunteers, and staff remain our top priority.
“We could not have gotten here without the tremendous support of the community. In particular our foster families who have stepped up since March and have provided loving homes for 217 animals, of which we have found forever homes for 163,” says Rick Perciante, Executive Director, OMHS.
We continue to encourage members of the public to access our online services rather than physically coming into the shelter. This includes dog licensing, donations, general inquiries, etc.
As mentioned, thanks to the hard work of our volunteers, we are thrilled to be open again at the Barkin’ Bin Thrift Shop at 511 Pinegrove Road in Oakville. The shop is now open Thurs-Sat from 1-4 pm! So pop by today to shop and drop off your gently used goods. In particular, we are in need of fall clothing. Please note, at this time we can’t accept children’s toys. All proceeds from the sales go directly to help the animals.
