Oakville & Milton Humane Society Volunteer Program

The staff and animals at the Oakville & Milton Humane Society appreciate your interest in volunteering. We’re eager to have you join the more than 150 volunteers assisting our staff to care for the animals at the shelter and provide animal related services in our community.  Volunteers are very valued members of the Oakville & Milton Humane Society.

As a volunteer, you may have the opportunity to help us in the following areas: animal care, fostering, cat socialization, matching pets and people, dog training, small animal socializing, pet therapy, education, office help, store help, and even gardening and light handy-person chores.

When volunteer positions become available, we post the volunteer job description. The job description outlines all the details of the volunteer position. If you are interested in being interviewed for the position we ask you to fill out the Oakville & Milton Humane Society Volunteer Application and send it back to us, along with a cover letter prior to the closing date.

Volunteers must be 18+ unless otherwise stated

Please remember that our animals are our primary concern. In addition, we often receive many applications for a single volunteer position. We appreciate all those who consider volunteering at the Oakville & Milton Humane Society but only those people whom are best suited for the position will be contacted for interviews.
